吴作人艺术馆

  吴作人先生生于苏州,并在苏州度过了青少年时光。他与萧淑芳女士生前高度关注家乡的建设和发展,捐赠家乡百余件书画作品,委由戴念慈先生主持设计吴作人艺术馆。苏州市委、市政府择全国重点文物保护单位之一双塔畔,斥资于上世纪90年代修建吴作人艺术馆并对外免费开放,占地面积1430平方米,建筑面积780平方米。

  2015年,苏州市委、市政府又投入近500万元经费,全面整修升级吴作人艺术馆,常年展出吴作人先生生前留给家乡之原作。

Wu Zuoren Art Museum

  Mr. Wu Zuoren was born and grew up in Suzhou. He and his wife Mrs. Xiao Shufang were very concerned about the construction and development of Suzhou. They donated more than one hundred art works to Suzhou and commissioned Mr. Dai Nianci to design Wu Zuoren Art Museum. The museum was built next to Twin-Pagoda, one of national key cultural relics protection units in 1990s and opened to the public for free. It covers an area of 1430㎡ with a building area of 780 ㎡.In 2015, Suzhou Municipal Government spent about 5 million Yuan to upgrade it. Now, original works of Mr. Wu left to Suzhou people are exhibited all year around at Wu Zuoren Art Museum.
