Known as the first art museum in China, Suzhou Art Museum was established in 1927 by Mr. Yan Wenliang. In 2010, the new Suzhou Art Museum was completed and open to the public. Located at the northern section of Renmin Road in the ancient city of Suzhou, the new museum has an 800-square-meter exhibition hall on the first floor and 6 small and medium-sized exhibition halls, each of which covers an area of 200 to 500 ㎡. Its wall line is 463 meters in total. Also, it has the outdoor exhibition area of 800 ㎡ , multi-functional academic lecture halls and a storeroom with constant temperature and humidity. Followed the tenet as “it depends on the great ambition and constantly hard work to achieve great accomplishments”, Suzhou Art Museum is always oriented to the needs of the localization, the modernization and the globalization. Suzhou Art Museum has organized many great exhibitions, including Water of Canglang--Suzhou Art Museum Collection Series:The Special Exhibition of Yan Wenliang Works, Southern Yangtze 2015 China Oil Painting Exhibition, Collision and Blending-Suzhou Art Museum Collection Series: Artist Return From Aboard in the Early 20th Century and Photography Exhibition of Southern Cities' Centennial Changes.
